Santee River

According to USGS, the Santee River is the second largest river on the eastern coast of the United States, second only to the Susquehanna River in drainage area and flow. In this low country region, the water is brackish and affected by tides. Our photo spot was right at the highway overpass of the river, just a couple of miles north of the Santee Coastal Reserve.
